What to Expect From Your Child’s First Lesson
Your child is in store for an exciting, fun time at Arthur Murray Dance Center Whitefish Bay. He or she is about to discover the wonders of dance under the guidance of highly trained experienced instructors. Of course, you are going to have a front-row seat, watching as your child’s talent blossoms and personality blooms.
Following is what you can expect your child to learn on their first day at the Arthur Murray Whitefish Bay:
Starting with the Basics
Children start dancing on the first day. Following that, the first lessons focus on basic moves to help get our young dancers warmed up and acclimated to their surroundings. Children are taught about timing, foot position, rhythm and leading/following techniques. They eventually begin learning more complicated patterns.
Variety and fun is worked into every class. Dancers in our kids’ program learn different styles to keep everything exciting, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn new things, even while they work on the fundamentals.
We know that children learn at different paces. Some are more interested in one dance style than they are in others. That’s why we keep it fun and lively, with instructors working in new dances so everyone has a great time.
Supportive, Welcoming Environment
Students learn more than just dance steps. From the first day, your young dancer will be part of a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, and with your support, they will learn self-discipline, creativity, self-expression, accountability and social grades. Your child won’t master all the moves on the first day, so we can help build their confidence over time.
